Since my conquest yesterday I was ecstatic to receive a visit from my homeboy Thor. While he was here chatting with him about my experiance, I was like dOOde, you gotta let me paint you. Thankfully he had time to spare cause no one else in the world has recently killed a bear in melee combat. Ya I guess its been over 150 yrs since that happened.
Cool.

They call me Bear Slayer, or B.S. for short.
ATTENTION, THIS IS NOT A SKETCH
This is a photo of me just after I battled a Bear. I used a knife and a rock. I was so excited and fueled with pure adrenaline over my victory I got a what the medical field refers to as an erection.
My scars are healing well.

Drawing Wolverine Never gets old.
-The Wolvie Sketch I did at work about a week ago. Its just all I had was black sharpies and a white out pen. The Trees in the BG were the most fun at the very end. I just scribbled with the white out pen to imply some berch trees. I took a photo with my IPhone and tossed it into photoshop for a little extra.
-2nd Image was an image mainly to play with different mediums. Its 110lbs paper primed with acrylic gesso. I toned it with water colors and started drawing with a brush and ink right away, hence all the perspective and anatomy flaws. Whatever though I was having fun. Once inked I used White correctional ink for allot of the (overpowering) whites and more Acrylic paints. Again Photo taken with my IPhone cause I'm to lazy to scan these images in pieces and reassemble them.
-3rd... Im not telling

Cable WIP
Playing with the Cintiq more & Putting color to sketch. Cables eye needs more shine but that'll be a finishing touch along with the star scar. For now I still have bullets and pockets to render.
Again just a photo of my screen with my IPhone, its a little washed out.

Balacai - Oils
Been due time to tackle some Oils paints again. I shot a photo with my IPhone and I fixed up the blade of the sword and a few very minor highlights digitally. I have a shitty yellowish light in my room so I changed the hue of the overall image to fix that was well.
This was done on 15"x11" 130lbs Pentalic Paper.

1982 Batman
Saw some old pics of Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez design guide for DC comics back in 1982 (year I was born). I wanted to sketch a pic of the sweet blue and get Batman. What's Batman without the Atmosphere around him? So it turns out he's a little less blue and grey, but I dig what this hour has brought up.

Thor's Temper
Despite the lack of updates its been a while since I drew a picture of Thor. I like where this is going for a few hours work. I may pop some color into it. Red haired Mythology version is how I originally pictured for this.

Fitness
What I have learned about health and fitness
Something I have always taken part in & something I have been doing more of. A friend posted a link to this on his blog. Its allot simpler than Magz, and TV make it seem. Doesn't mean its not work though.

The Mighty Thor.

I combined two of my favorite design elements that I enjoy Marvels Thor to have. Olivier Coipel's costume design and a mighty beard that he sports off and on over the years.
Done with a Quill, a brush, Ink and Pro white. Id like to do more of these.

Call Me Snake.
Here is my Blog. This will run along side my new portfolio Website http://danielandrews.ca
One blog to see everything that I am up to Artistically & a hub for myself, with links to many artists who's artwork I enjoy.
Currently Im well on my way to doing a self published title called Seeds of Midgard. It's a project I created to commit myself to in order to teach myself how to paint. Prior to the 14 months ago I have been painting I had only ever Colored in flats under inked lines. Never Implying the methodologies of bounce & reflective lighting, cast shadows...I could go on.
I have been active on http://www.conceptart.org/forums/ and currently on day 4 of a 6 day review week. by a Stellar Cast of Professional Artists. I bought the full 6 day package for a moderate price for what I'm finding the experience to be worth.
Monday 2 - El Coro and Sterling Hundley
Tuesday 3 - Jason Manley and Anita Kunz
Wednesday 4 - Jason Chan and George Pratt
Thursday 5 - Andrea Wicklund and Whit Brachna
Friday 6 - Jon Foster and Carl Dobsky
Saturday 7- Brett Briley and Jason Manley
I have never received such a feast of information about my, or art in general. They Stream the sessions over the site which allows us to ask via a chat window or speak to the artists if you had a mic. To add was the fact that we all as an online class could watch and listen to all the other critiques to everyone else who posted there work. There were several moments during the critiques where they might word a specific problem or solution in a manor that really brought light to what I was trying to understand in my own work. I hope they offer this kind of thing again, and I hope more artists take advantage to it.
Between the New website, the start of this Blog, The recent critiques and new light shed on my work I feel like a snake who rids itself of its skin in one continuous piece. The shedding is not without purpose. Snakes shed their skin to allow for growth, as well as to remove parasites along with their old skin.
Maybe I should change my name to Plissken?
